Xiaomi has removed fake RuStore from the app store, a source said

MOSCOW, February 5 Xiaomi has removed copies of the Russian official RuStore from its GetApps application store, a source close to Xiaomi said.
Earlier on Monday, the Vedomosti newspaper reported that the Xiaomi Mi GetApps application store contains about 10 copies of the domestic RuStore store, which is being developed by VK together with the Ministry of Digital Development. The services imitate the Russian store icon, but do not implement its functionality. As the newspaper clarifies, these services have existed in the store since at least the fall, and two of them were loaded into the store as early as January 2024.
“The company closely monitors software products added to the GetApps service,” the source commented and confirmed the fact of prompt removal of fake applications.

«RuStore is a registered trademark, we protect our intellectual property and fight fakes in other stores,» the VK press service commented to the agency.

It was also noted that the RuStore application is available for download only on the official website and is not available in other stores. “We recommend that you carefully study the services and user documentation before installing any applications,” the press service noted.
