The effects of caffeine may disappear if you drink the boost every day without stopping
Decades of research show that coffee makes you healthier and happier, but it's better for boosting energy levels and improving memory do not overdo it with doses. The inevitable caffeine deficiency becomes painful because the body becomes addicted.
Coffee may reduce the risk of cancer by 20 percent, the risk of type 2 diabetes by 30 percent, and the risk of Parkinson's disease by 30 percent. A study published in the journal Circulation found that coffee may reduce the risk of stroke by 20 percent.
A new survey of more than 260,000 people by the National Institutes of Health found that people who drank four or more cups of coffee a day were nearly 10 percent less likely to be depressed than those who drank none.
Studies have shown that consuming caffeine before creating new memories has little effect, but at the same time, consuming caffeine after completing a learning task has been found to improve memory retention for 24 hours.
Caffeine blocks physiological processes, this is one of the reasons why drinking large amounts of coffee makes a person feel truly alert in the morning.
But experts warn that the effect is not eternal. A 2012 study found that within three days of chronic caffeine use, the chemical adenosine receptors, which modulates neuronal excitability, increased significantly.
As with most things, chronic caffeine consumption becomes the new normal.
A 2019 experiment found that participants in a 20-day study increased their peak cycling power (a measure of feeling alert and energized) during the first 15 days of caffeine use. The greatest effect was obtained on the first day. The effect then declined until it reached pre-study levels.
Changes in adenosine receptor levels usually resolve after a 7-day caffeine break. According to scientists, it is not necessary to completely give up coffee, the main thing is to reduce consumption so that the level of adenosine receptors is restored.
