The British company Electrogenic from the town of Kidlington (Oxfordshire) presented an electric mod based on the 1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom II, outstanding in its aesthetic qualities; it was made for Hollywood film actor Jason Momoa. The production of the electric mod took a year and a half and required extraordinary technical solutions; several episodes in the documentary series On The Roam with Jason Momoa as the host are dedicated to the unique machine.
Our regular readers are familiar with the Electrogenic company for the electric mod based on classic Citroen DS. Electrogenic also makes small-scale electric mods based on the classic Porsche 911, Mini, Land Rover Defender and Jaguar E-Type, and the electrified Rolls-Royce Phantom II is one of the one-off and most expensive projects due to its technical complexity and the rarity of the original model.
Important note: Given the historical value of the original 1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom II, Electrogenic has electrified it so that it remains capable of reverse conversion, that is, a return to the original design. Not a single original part was thrown away or cut, everything that needed to be removed for conversion was carefully unscrewed, dismantled and carefully packaged for storage.
The fundamental reluctance to cut and destroy the original design of the machine required considerable ingenuity from Electrogenic specialists. From the factory, the Rolls-Royce Phantom II is equipped with a 7.7-liter inline 6-cylinder engine with a power of about 50 hp, which is connected to a chassis lubrication system and a brake drive. In order for all this to work as it should without an internal combustion engine, it was necessary to build a separate oil pump driven by an electric motor. The location of the cable rods and levers in the brake system had to be changed. In addition, the braking system has been supplemented with a new hydraulic booster and its operation is coordinated with the regenerative braking function of the electric motor (two levels of recuperation are available — standard and maximum for driving on steep slopes).

The battery takes the place of the internal combustion engine under the long hood and is packaged in an artistically designed aluminum casing; behind it, between the frame side members, an electric motor with a maximum output of 150 kW (204 hp) and 310 Nm is installed, it works in tandem with a single-stage gearbox. The driver has three driving modes available — standard Drive, economical Eco and dynamic Sport. The range on one charge is about 240 km.

The original interior design of the Rolls-Royce Phantom II has been completely preserved and brought to perfect condition, but the substrates and purposes of some instruments had to be changed: for example, the fuel gauge now shows the battery charge level, and the place of the ammeter has been taken by an indicator of the power consumed during acceleration and the power received during braking. In addition, a modern high-quality audio system with a subwoofer has been hidden installed in the cabin; you need to connect to it via Bluetooth.

In the recently released documentary series On The Roam, Jason Momoa travels the world and communicates with various people who have achieved the highest level of skill in a particular field — for example, in music, sports, the production of custom motorcycles and the creation of unique electric mods.
