According to the department, at about 18.00 a woman called the emergency services and reported that she and her sister got lost in the Dzerzhinets SNT in the Traktorozavodsky district of Volgograd; due to heavy snowfall, they could not find the way to the bus stop. In addition, the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted, the women, making their way through the snowdrifts, lost sight of each other.
«Literally in a matter of minutes, rescuers arrived at the scene. Due to snow-covered roads in the dacha area, firefighters went on search on foot and found the exhausted Volgograd resident. Soon, a second victim was found within a radius of 300 meters,» the Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a statement.
It is noted that rescuers carried the frostbitten women to ambulances, the victims were taken to the hospital.
