However, according to Knyazev, Promes is not facing extradition any time soon. The verdict in his case has not yet entered into force, and putting him on the international wanted list takes time. Now the footballer has the opportunity to stay in the UAE, after which Promes will be able to return to Russia, the specialist believes.
Promes’ ex-teammate Andrei Eshchenko spoke about the potential consequences of the court decision.
«Promes will now live in Moscow. We don’t know what really happened there. Six years is something powerful. But he will remain in Spartak, will continue to work at the club. He had emotional outbursts, but in fact, he is a good kid. He can always help, he is kind and open,» the footballer told Sport Express.
