MOSCOW, February 14. Festive evening “Remembering Our Days”, dedicated to the birthday of the Central House of Actors named after A.A. Yablochkina, was held in Moscow, the correspondent reports.
The Central House of Actors turns 87 on February 14.
“The great coincidence is that the House of Actors was opened on February 14, 1931 on Pushkin Square. At that time, no one knew that more than 50 years later this day would be considered a significant Valentine’s Day, that in the future we would celebrate this double holiday. Accordingly , those who are not involved in the play have now gathered here: artists of the Ermolova Theater, brother and sister Yakovlev, Zaitsev sisters and many other wonderful actors,” said Honored Artist of Russia Vasily Kupriyanov.
Famous Russian cultural figures gathered in the Great Hall, including People's Artists of the Russian Federation Mark Rozovsky, Svetlana Nemolyaeva, Emmanuil Vitorgan, Alena Yakovleva, Evgeny Mironov, ballet dancer Nikolai Tsiskaridze, musician Varius Avner, actress Marina Gaizidorskaya, Honored Artists Arkady Inin and Arkady Kats , Honored Artists of the Russian Federation Vasily Kupriyanov, Vladimir Zaitsev, journalist and photographer Yuri Rost and others.
“The profession of an actor is ups and downs, troubles and victories,” noted actress Nemolyaeva.
The creative evening was hosted by actor and director Alexander Zhigalkin. During the evening, students of the Shchukin Theater Institute performed excerpts from Russian classics. Pianist, professor at the Gnessin Academy Yuri Bogdanov performed the composition “Lady in Black.” In addition, memorable footage of the artists’ performances was shown, for example, selected numbers from actors’ skits.
The Central Actor’s House is a unique creative association. Organized by Alexander Eskin in 1937 as an acting club, as a place for recreation and informal communication between theater people. After the fire in the house on Tverskaya, the Actor's House occupies premises on Arbat, 35. Today, five theater venues operate simultaneously in the Central House: Big Hall, Small Hall, Chamber Hall, Living Room, Art Salon.
