A homeless man hijacked a plane in California and crash-landed on the beach
To highlight the security gaps at local airports, a homeless man hijacked a plane in California and crash-landed on a beach.
A homeless man named Luis Gustavo Ayres stole a private jet worth $150,000 from Palo Alto Airport. Having swooped in, he made a hard landing on the beach in Half Moon Bay — the plane stuck its nose into the sand. The hijacker was detained.
The man learned to fly in his native Brazil. He entered the airport in the States through a hole in the fence.
