Details of the death of the Ekaterinburg animal activist have become known Alexandra Shcherbakova and her 16-year-old daughter. Preliminarily, the cause of their death was a gas leak, writes E1.RU with reference to the woman’s ex-husband.

Alexandra and her daughter were first discovered by the eldest son. Alexandra's body lay in the corridor, her daughter's in the bathroom.

«Investigators seized a gas water heater. And all the documentation about when it was installed and when it was changed. This water heater has been in the house since the day it existed. Periodically, one the column would fail, another one would appear,” said the ex-husband of the deceased woman.

According to him, the installation of the columns was always done by gas workers. However, the gas company said that they are not responsible for the gas water heater. The Criminal Code also refused responsibility, since this is a “complex mechanism.” Now it is becoming clear who was responsible for the equipment.

Shcherbakova was involved in rescuing stray animals. Several cats, dogs and a guinea pig lived at her home; they also died along with their owners.
