MOSCOW, February 21 Writer Daria Dontsova said that she writes a book a month and has been following this schedule for several decades.
“For 25 years now, I have been delivering a book a month — this is my very pleasant schedule. Twelve books a year,” Dontsova said at a press conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of her creative activity.
She explained that she simply “really enjoys writing books.” This year, according to her, she has already written three works — more than the usual plan. At the same time, Dontsova noted that in addition to detective stories, she also has other projects coming out, for example, children’s books from the “Tales of the Beautiful Valley” series.
The publishing house «Eksmo» noted the originality of Dontsova's work — the style of her ironic detective stories and various remarkable details are copied by Asian authors. The head of the department of action-packed literature at Eksmo, Evgeniy Soloviev, recalled that Dontsova has currently published 258 detective stories, about 20 books from the Tales of the Beautiful Valley series, as well as culinary and autobiographical works.
The writer added that she still writes by hand, although she owns a computer. Also, according to her, she actively uses social networks, where she was surprised to discover that her audience has “rejuvenated” and prefers paper media to electronic ones.
Daria Dontsova (birth name — Agrippina Vasilyeva) was born on June 7, 1952 in Moscow. The first novel, “Cool Heirs,” was published in 1999.
