“I’ve heard enough of things that cannot be told”
The flamboyant artist Nikita Dzhigurda rode a tank for the first time and presented the soldiers with the “Kama Sutra of Spiritual Dances” with “a low syllable about high truths.” The actor, who returned from the combat zone, shared with us fresh impressions of the new mission with which he came to Donbass.

Nikita remembers the Polish film “Four Tankmen and a Dog” from childhood and always believed that a large modern tank was more comfortable than a T-34. The commander of a tank regiment with the call sign “Bes” offered the artist a ride on a tank. “The commander’s command “Get on your horses!” sounded, the crew sank at 80 km per hour — dust flies in your eyes, whistles in your ears, despite the fact that you are wearing a helmet. We flew for about 20 minutes,” artist, singer and poet Nikita Dzhigurda shares with MK. After this trip, the artist invited battalion commander “Bes” to wave his expensive sheepskin coat. As a result, Nikita returned from Donbass to the capital in a combat pea jacket.
“This is my unofficial visit, not what is shown on TV,” continues Dzhigurda. “I come to them as a brother.” There are both volunteers and mobilized people there; I’m old enough to be a father to many of the young guys. From the stage, I always offer to raise a glass for the guys and girls who are allowing us to live peacefully in the Donbass. On the fronts of Donbass, I gave away my just published book of poems “Kama Sutra of Spiritual Dances. Notes of the Holy Fool. In it he collected 200 of his own poems. 100 lyrical and philosophical pearls without obscene language and 100 with the “vertical Russian obscenity” — a low syllable about high truths.
I haven't published a book for 12 years. Businessmen of the capital's best book publishing house wanted to hold a presentation in Moscow, promised to cover a free clearing in a restaurant and gather 100 people for the press. But I’m not a fan of metropolitan parties, and I came up with another idea — to distribute the book in the Donbass. I agreed with a commander I knew and made a forced march.
It took three to four hours to get to secret camouflaged units, and went into dugouts at different checkpoints, where two or three guys were on duty. I read a couple of poems to them, signed books for the fighters and for their friends. I've heard enough things that I can't tell. Due to the increased adrenaline after the stories the fighters told me, it was impossible to fall asleep. I slept for two hours.
During three days in the Donbass, I managed to present 350 autographed copies to our soldiers, performing songs and poems at checkpoints and in camouflaged dugouts of the Ugledar and Zaporozhye fronts. The book is from the 18+ category, and my performance of poems of my own composition really pleased and will continue to please many of our soldiers.
My “Kama Sutra” and training in the “vertical Russian mat” not only entered the fighters’ souls, but flew into their souls. On my 63rd birthday, I am again going to visit the front-line zones of Donbass with a new batch of my books and gifts.
Nikita Dzhigurda visited the North Military District zone for the first time on his birthday on March 27, 2023, since then the artist always brings here humanitarian aid — for example, cars purchased at your own expense. This time Nikita brought knives made of Kizlyar steel as gifts to unit commanders. The commander of one of the units responded by presenting the artist with a combat watch.
