MOSCOW, April 13 People's Artist of the RSFSR Yuri Kuklachev is in serious but stable condition after a heart attack, said the head of the Great Moscow Circus Edgard Zapashny in Telegram- channel.
«Yuri Kuklachev is in serious but stable condition! An operation was performed at night that lasted more than three hours. A massive heart attack,» the publication says.
Kuklachev became ill on Friday at his anniversary concert “The kindest clown” in the “Vegas Hall”, he was taken away in an ambulance with heart complaints, said the artist’s son.
The clown and trainer was born on April 12, 1949, since 1967 he has performed in the Moscow Circus arena on Tsvetnoy Boulevard. In 1971 he graduated from the State School of Circus and Variety Arts.
Since 1990, Kuklachev has run his own theater of trained cats. He became the first Russian director of such circus acts. The theater has received many international awards, including the Gold Cup and the title of «The Most Original Theater in the World», received during its Paris tour. The documentary films “With a Kind Smile” (1980, directed by Yuri Dubravin) and “The Cat and the Clown” (1984, Sergei Vologdin) are dedicated to the life and work of the trainer.
