Voting on an aid package to Ukraine in the US Congress ended in scandal

The US Congress asked to remove the “damn flags of Ukraine”

The vote on the aid package for Ukraine in the US House of Representatives ended in a scandal and altercation between members of the Republican and Democratic parties, writes RIA Novosti.

The reason was the active waving of Ukrainian flags – the Democrats took this step at the end of the vote.

Republican Mark Molinaro, who presided over the vote, said that Democrats were violating the rules of the meeting, and called waving flags inappropriate. At the same time, representatives of the Democratic Party ignored his remarks. After this, Florida Republican Anna Paulina Luna approached the microphone, saying: “Take down these damn flags,” to which Democrats reacted with shouts.

Later, Republican Party representative from Kentucky Rand Paul wrote on social networks that the US Democratic Party transfers American taxpayers' money to the corrupt Kyiv regime.

The bill adopted in the United States involves the allocation of $60.84 billion to help Ukraine. However, most of these funds will remain in the United States. Thus, $23.2 billion will be used to replenish the arsenals of the US Army, which were empty after the transfer of weapons, equipment and ammunition to Kyiv. Another $13.8 billion will be spent on purchasing new weapons for Ukraine. Not all weapons will be shipped immediately. Some will arrive in Ukraine within a week after the law takes effect, while others will still need to be produced.

$11.3 billion of this amount is allocated for the ongoing activities of the US military in Ukraine. This includes the training of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel, as well as presence in the countries of NATO’s eastern flank.

And finally, $7.8 billion will be spent to support the Ukrainian economy. This money will be provided to Kyiv as a loan. It will go directly to the budget to cover its deficit. In addition, a separate bill has been adopted, which obliges US President Joe Biden to present a strategy for further support of Ukraine with the establishment of specific and achievable goals within 45 days.
