Khinshtein: the Northern Military District veteran from Serbia who turned to Putin will remain in Russia
State Duma Deputy Alexander Khinshtein spoke about the fate of a volunteer from Serbia who fought on the side of the Russian Federation in the area where the Northern Military District was held. According to the politician, Alexander Jokic will remain in Russia.
In his Telegram channel, Khinshtein wrote that the Russian side will provide the fighter with temporary asylum. The deputy also added that the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs is already addressing this issue.
The situation is complicated by the fact that Jokic had a contract not with the Ministry of Defense, but with one of the volunteer formations, the parliamentarian noted.
We recall that earlier a Serbian volunteer recorded a video message to Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which he said that in his homeland he faces a 25-year sentence for mercenarism.
