MOSCOW, May 2. Randomly turning on the camera or microphone of a smartphone, as well as self-launching of programs in the background may be signs of fraudsters spying on the user through his phone, a member of the State Duma Committee said in information policy Anton Nemkin.
«There are several signs by which you can determine that you are being monitored through your device. For example, this may be evidenced by rapid battery consumption, random activation of various functions, for example, a microphone or video camera, as well as self-starting programs in the background. Any «independent “Smartphone activity should cause concern,” he said. 
< br />The deputy notes that if such suspicious operation of a smartphone is detected, first of all it is worth checking the guesses, using the special services that each telecom operator has for these purposes.
«In most cases, you just need to dial a short code and send it to a specific number. This also needs to be done carefully — preferably under the guidance of employees of cellular communication stores,» the parliamentarian added.
The deputy also advised storing your data on external drives so that, if necessary, you can reset the device to factory settings.
