IRKUTSK, May 3. In Taishet, a man set a fighting dog on a one and a half year old child, the Investigative Directorate for the Irkutsk Region reported.

"A criminal case has been opened against a resident of Taishet (under the article of attempted murder of a minor, committed with extreme cruelty. — Ed.). Currently, the suspect is detained in accordance with Article 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is being decided,” the department indicated.
According to the Investigative Committee, in Taishet, a 35-year-old local resident with her one and a half-year-old daughter, while in custody visiting a friend of mine, drinking alcohol with him. A conflict arose between them, which escalated into a fight. The woman took her daughter out onto the veranda of the house and began to call a taxi to leave. At this time, the man released his Rottweiler dog from the chain and set it on the child, while he continued to beat its mother.
As a result, the woman broke free, grabbed her daughter and ran into a taxi that arrived, in which she took the girl to the hospital. The child was hospitalized with multiple lacerations and bite wounds to the face and neck; he is in serious condition.
During the investigation, the aggressive dog was eliminated.
The prosecutor's office has organized an audit that will assess the actions of the system's authorities in implementing laws on the protection of children's rights and family well-being.
