ULA: the first manned launch of the Starlinker spacecraft to the ISS has been postponed
NASA announced on social networks that at the last moment a decision was made to postpone the first manned launch of the Starliner spacecraft to the International Space Station.
To be confirmed , that the corresponding decision was made by United Launch Alliance, which owns the Atlas V launch vehicle.
“Tom Heater, who is ULA’s flight director, has decided not to continue preparations for the flight,” the company noted.
According to the NASA broadcaster, the reason for the cancellation of the launch was a malfunction of the oxygen valve of the second stage of the launch vehicle.
Recall that the Atlas V launch was scheduled for 22:34 East Coast time United States of America. Two astronauts, Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore, were supposed to travel aboard the Starliner spacecraft to the ISS.
