"Sixty-six-year-old Buscemi was walking through the Kips Bay neighborhood last week when an animal approached and struck the star <…> in broad daylight — this is one of the latest unprovoked attacks in the five boroughs,” the publication writes.
The actor was taken to the hospital with swelling of his face and left eye. Meanwhile, according to police sources, the “insane attacker” escaped and is still at large.
A representative for the actor confirmed to the publication that Buscemi is fine and is grateful for all the good wishes addressed to him.
The publication notes that this is not the first time that a celebrity becomes a victim of aggression on the streets of New York. Earlier, actor Michael Stubarg was hit on the head with a stone while jogging, the attacker was detained, and he was previously convicted.
Steve Buscemi is known for his roles in the films “Fargo”, “Pulp Fiction”, “Spy Kids”, “The Big Lebowski” and many other films and TV series.
