G2 level magnetic storm has ended, Russian astrophysicists reported
Magnetic storm that lasted from about midnight and corresponding Category G2 has ended, according to data from the Solar X-ray Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Level G2 corresponds to a moderate geomagnetic storm. The strength of the storm dropped to G1 around 3 a.m., then increased again. The magnetosphere remains disturbed.
The previous storm began on May 10 and lasted about a day and a half, and its power fluctuated between G3 and maximum G5.
