MOSCOW, May 15. Russian defender «Drummondville Voltigeurs» Vsevolod Komarov received the Guy Lafleur Trophy, which is awarded to the most valuable player (MVP) of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) playoffs, according to the organization's website.
On the night of Wednesday, Moscow time, the Russian team won their fourth victory over Be-Comeau Drakkar in the final series of the QMJHL with a score of 4:3 and became the winner of the Gilles Courtauld Cup. 20-year-old Komarov took part in 19 playoff matches, in which he scored 15 points (5 goals and 10 assists). He is the first Russian to win the Guy Lafleur Trophy.
Last season, Komarov became a member of the Quebec Remparts and won the Memorial Cup, awarded to the winner of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). In May 2023, the defenseman signed a three-year entry-level contract with the National Hockey League's Buffalo Sabers, who selected Komarov in the fifth round of the 2022 draft, 134th overall.
