MOSCOW, May 14. State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin called for speech against the practice when legionnaires from other countries are taken into Russian sports, while money is taken for receiving the GTO badge and sports categories in children's sports sections in the country, and talented domestic athletes are taken abroad.
“”Because I'm tired of all this: these legionnaires take them from Africa and from other countries. What is this? Shame! And the child goes with his grandmother to the section – they take money from them in order to get a badge GTO and fulfill it to the level – again they take money. This is what we must oppose,” Volodin said at the plenary task of the State Duma on Tuesday.
He also called for an end to the practice of taking the most talented athletes abroad.
“Our task is for a healthy lifestyle to be the main, if you like, meaning of the work of the Ministry of Sports, and first of all mass sports,” Volodin emphasized.
