MOSCOW, May 14.State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin asked the candidate for the post of head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev, to speak before the State Duma without a tablet and called on people not to be driven “into digital slavery.”
«Maksut Igorevich, well, firstly, you can (perform) without a tablet. When you carry a tablet, it raises fears about what will happen next… People should have the right to choose (use technology): they want to use it, they don’t they want it, they don’t use it, so that there is no digital slavery,” Volodin said at a plenary meeting of the State Duma. 
He added that the role of the head of the Ministry of Digital Development is to develop everything new and technologically advanced so that Russia is ahead of other states in the field of technology, but people still have the right to choose whether they want to use these technologies or not.
«Offer technologies, but the right should belong to the person. There is no need to put the citizen in conditions: either he must follow the path of digitalization, or he has problems. All services must be open «, concluded Volodin. -0-
