Solar Group presented the Solar NGFW software and hardware complex, the virtual version of which was presented to the market last year. During this time, the product was included in the Unified Register of Russian Software and has repeatedly proven its effectiveness during load testing.

Solar's next-generation software firewall NGFW was first introduced to the market in April 2023 as a comprehensive, feature-rich solution that provides reliable, scalable and manageable protection against network threats in challenging environments. One of the key advantages of the product is the unique expertise of the Solar 4RAYS Cyber Threat Research Center, which accumulates information on the most significant attacks carried out on the infrastructure of Russian companies. This TI (Threat Intelligence) knowledge is constantly updated and transmitted to the NGFW in the form of new IPS signatures. Over the year, the number of unique signatures from Solar 4RAYS has increased 10-fold, and their number is continuously growing, and their delivery SLA is 24 hours from the moment the attack is detected.
A year after its launch, Solar NGFW is reaching a new level and taking shape in hardware. During this time, the architecture was finalized, the performance of which, together with the software and hardware platform, is already 40 Gbit/s in firewall mode. The company conducted 50 pilot tests to confirm the product's performance. Specialists from the Solar group of companies, together with the Russian company Kraftway, have developed a model range of single-unit hardware platforms: medium performance (up to 20 Gbit/s) for the B2B segment, high performance (up to 40 Gbit/s) for the B2E segment and highest performance (up to 100 Gbit/s). c) for data centers and large enterprise segment companies.

The first two have a wide range of network interfaces: copper at 1 Gbit/s and optical at 10 and 100 Gbit/s, but they differ in single- and dual-processor layouts, as well as in the amount of RAM. These differences will allow customers not to overpay for power that is excessive for various segments of IT infrastructure, while maintaining the benefits of all types of network connections. The most powerful version is presented with uncompromising two 24-core processors, 128 GB of RAM and eight 100 Gbps optical network interfaces, complemented by four copper ones. On this hardware platform, in 2025, Solar Group plans to introduce to the market Solar NGFW on Architecture II with a speed of 100 Gbit/s comparable to foreign solutions in NGFW mode.
“We primarily aimed at the enterprise segment, where the main priorities are a balance of reliability, performance and functionality. Therefore, we focus on high-performance architecture and place high demands on the developer. In collaboration with Kraftway, we designed and prototyped the Solar NGFW PAK, which has a number of unique advantages and meets market requirements. Despite our technology partner’s extensive experience working with network devices, it took eight months to adapt the solution to our requirements,” says Alexander Barinov, director of the network security product portfolio at Solar Group. b>
