Nelly Korda's run is over, but her reign is just beginning. If the American has proven anything over the last amazing five months, it's that there is an undisputed No. 1 in women's football, whose style, strength and spirit will remain there for seasons to come.

Considering what she's been through, no one needs to remind Corda of that, despite her record streak of five straight LPGA tournament victories ending in New Jersey last weekend. However, the fact that, at 25, her rise to power actually seems belated says all you need to know about the extent of her talent.
“When Nelly first topped the rankings three years ago, when she won her first major [Women's PGA] and then Olympic gold, I thought she would dominate from then on,” her coach David Whelan told Telegraph Sport. “But things happen. She had a blood clot in her arm and her concerns weren't just about golf, which was very difficult for a teenager to handle. Then when she returned last year the opposite problem occurred. Now she's back at it, and I'll say this: I really think she'll continue to dominate for a while.»
