MOSCOW, May 16. People's Artist of the Russian Federation Sergei Andriaka was the greatest master of the brush, his works won recognition and love all over the world, domestic culture suffered a heavy loss in connection with his death, stated the press service of the Russian Academy of Arts (RAH).
Andriyaka died Thursday morning at the age of 65.
«The Russian Academy of Arts and the entire national culture suffered a heavy loss. A wonderful man, the greatest master of the brush, whose works won recognition and love throughout the world, has passed away. The artist’s art and his civic position were characterized by deep spirituality, attention to the best traditions of the Russian and world culture, modern perception of the world and the tasks of art,” the message says.
Colleagues note that the artist was an amazing, honest, open person who earned the love, appreciation and respect of many people.
The Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts also expressed condolences to Andriyaka’s family and friends. “Bright memories of a man who lived his life honestly and with dignity, leaving behind the fruits of his good deeds, will always be stronger than death. We mourn and sincerely sympathize with the family, friends and colleagues of Sergei Nikolaevich Andriyaka,” the Academy of Arts concluded.
People's Artist of the Russian Federation, founder and artistic director of the School of Watercolor, rector of the Academy of Watercolor and Fine Arts Sergei Andriyaka was born on July 14, 1958 in Moscow. Andriyaka’s paintings decorate the first building of the Kremlin, where the head of state works. The walls also feature works by his students. In total — more than 200 paintings.
