Russia has named the possible cause of the plane crash in which the Iranian president died

Aviation expert Shabrin: the helicopter crash from Raisi could have occurred due to a technical malfunction

The crash of the helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and other senior officials could have been due to a technical malfunction or human error . This assumption was made by aviation expert Vladimir Shabrin.

He also drew attention to the fact that two others flying with this helicopter were able to reach their destination.

“In the video there is a mountainous area, plus they talked about fog. So, perhaps (the cause of the crash – ed.) was a human factor or a technical malfunction,” the expert said.

The helicopter crash from Raisi occurred on May 19 in the north-west of the country in the Verzegan region. . The incident happened after the head of state met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev. Raisi's death was confirmed on the morning of May 20.
