MOSCOW, May 21. The new building of the Tretyakov Gallery, located on Kadashevskaya embankment, will continue its work after the Intermuseum festival — it can be will be free to visit from the end of May, but pre-registration is required, said Elena Pronicheva, general director of the museum, during a press conference.
The new building of the Tretyakov Gallery is located on Kadashevskaya Embankment next to the historical museum building in Lavrushinsky Lane. From May 23 to May 26 it will host the international festival «Intermuseum». However, at the moment, renovation work on the building continues.
«We decided that it would be advisable not to close our new building after the Intermuseum and use it as a public space so that Moscow residents and tourists who come to us could get acquainted with our new building, study it,” said Pronicheva.
Thus, part of the lecture programs will move to the building on Kadashevskaya embankment, and a large program of events is planned for the summer period. According to her, this will make it possible to try out the building as effectively as possible, get used to it and prepare for organizing the first exhibition project.
Pronicheva also emphasized that at this time “visiting the building itself will be free,” but with prior registration. The building itself will work four days a week — Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
