The final of the III International Cyber Championship in Information Security, organized by the Solar Group and the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia together with technology partners — Kaspersky Lab and Security Code, took place at the conference site «Digital Industry of Industrial Russia 2024″ » In Nizhniy Novgorod. Seven teams from Russia, Turkmenistan and Myanmar competed intensely for five hours in practical skills in responding to cyber attacks. The three winners will be announced and awarded on May 23 during a panel session dedicated to information security.
The International Cyber Championship is one of the largest competitive events in the field of information security. The organizers collected more than 180 applications from 21 countries and admitted 40 teams from Russia and friendly CIS countries, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, Africa and South America to the qualifying round. On May 15, seven finalists with the highest scores were determined: five teams from Russia, one from Turkmenistan and one from Myanmar. The list of finalists included the following teams: Sink_Hole_Security, CyberTeam, NLMC_SOC, “Team 38”, “TurkmenTelecom”, “Monitorilka Logs” and UIS.
The purpose of the event is to develop practical skills, coordinate efforts to combat hackers on a global level and contribute to the development of the international community by sharing experiences in responding to cyber attacks. During the competition, the participating teams repelled cyber attacks by specially trained attack teams on their infrastructure — a digital copy of a standard object built on the Solar Cyberworld platform. For successful attacks and disabled objects, the finalists lost points.
The organizers are summing up the final results, and on May 23, the winners will receive an award from the hands of Alexander Shoitov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of Russia , and Igor Lyapunov, General Director of the Solar Group.
