MOSCOW, May 28. Actor, director and teacher, former chief director of the Vologda Youth Theater Nikolai Koval died at the age of 80 in Odessa, reported the Yaroslavl State Theater Institute (YAGTI).

He is remembered as a talented director and actor, a kind, bright person with an inimitable sense of humor. “Bright and kind memory from those Vologda residents who worked and communicated with him in the early 80s,” concluded YAGTI.
Nikolai Koval was born on September 3, 1943 in Odessa. From 1965 to 1978 he was an actor and director of the Yaroslavl Academic Theater. F. Volkova. Koval played in the productions “Your Uncle Misha”, “Tsar Yuri”, “Mutiny on the Volga” and many others. As a director, he staged the plays “Valentin and Valentina”, “Dear Boy”, “Characters”, “Twelfth Night” and others. From 1979 to 1982, Koval was the chief director of the Vologda Youth Theater, in which he staged the following plays: “Bumbarash”, “The Anxious Month of Veresen”, “Parents’ Saturday”, “But Still, She’s Spinning”, “Years of Wandering”, “Not there was not a penny, but suddenly it was altyn.” He also taught at the Yaroslavl Theater School.
