John Lennon's guitar found in attic sells for $2.8 million

MOSCOW, May 30. The 12-string acoustic guitar of the famous British musician, founder of the Beatles, John Lennon, was sold for $2.8 million, it became one of the most expensive guitars sold in the world, Julien's Auctions reports.
“The final bid of $2,857,500… cemented the Framus Hootenanny as the fifth-highest priced guitar ever sold,” the auction house said in a statement on its website.
According to Julien's Auctions, the guitar in question is Lennon's 12-string acoustic guitar, which he played while working on the Help! and Rubber Soul. The guitar comes with an original Maton case.

Rolling Stone magazine previously reported that this guitar was found in an attic, where it had lain in oblivion for more than 50 years.
