Vladimir Putin dismissed Mikhail Popov from the post of Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. The corresponding decree was published on Friday on the Kremlin website.
Reserve Vice Admiral, Doctor of Military Sciences Popov has held the position since the spring of 2013, previously he was assistant secretary of the Security Council.
Since May 12, the post of secretary occupied by former Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, who replaced Nikolai Patrushev.
