Earlier on Friday, the website of the mayor and government of Moscow reported that Gerasimov will become the artistic director of the Moscow Academic Theater of Satire.

“I consider it necessary to reboot — to return to the origins of the theater, to what Shirvindt did, to what Pluchek did, to those performances that created and formed the special style of this theater, which was unlike any other,” said He.
According to him, we are talking about the style that was formed by the former artistic directors of the theater Valentin Pluchek and Alexander Shirvindt, as well as famous artists who performed on its stage, such as Andrei Mironov, Anatoly Papanov and others.
““It seems to me that we need to move in this direction,” concluded Gerasimov.
President of the Satire Theater, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Shirvindt, who was the artistic director of the theater from 2000 to 2021, passed away on March 15, 2024. Before him, the Theater was led by People's Artist of the USSR Valentin Pluchek for more than 40 years.
