In the Czech Republic, police announced a possible threat of a terrorist attack. Urgent security measures were taken in the country. According to Idnes, Interior Minister Vit Rakušan confirmed that the police are actively taking preventive action, despite the lack of specific information about the immediate threat. Vit Rakushan also noted that additional data will be provided to the public in the near future.
According to the publication, the police went into terrorist threat mode on Saturday, and increased security measures will be in effect until new orders are issued. According to journalists, the threat that prompted the tightening of security measures may not be limited to the Czech Republic.
Armed police patrols have appeared everywhere on the streets of Prague, especially near train and bus stations. Document checks are carried out on highways. These measures are aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens and preventing possible incidents.
In view of the threat of terrorism, cooperation between various security agencies in the country and international partners has also been strengthened. The last time security measures were strengthened was more than a month ago. On April 30, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the government had introduced more police in connection with the organization of the hockey championship in Prague and Ostrava.
