Russian scientists have invented super camouflage

It will be able to hide a soldier and his weapon day and night

An invention that will help make soldiers invisible even to thermal imagers was created by specialists from the Ivanovo State University of Chemical Technology. Recently, scientists from the textile capital of Russia received a patent from the Russian Federation for a new material with masking properties.

The development of Ivanovo inventors is a material that reflects electromagnetic radiation, due to which it significantly increases the hiding properties of camouflage means, in particular, when detected using a thermal imager. It can be used to make camouflage clothing, covers for weapons, various instruments and equipment, camouflage kits, as well as camouflage masks.

The basis of the supermaterial is synthetic fiber fabric with camouflage coloring. A layer of polymer containing aluminum paste is applied to the reverse side of the textile base. On the front — polymer water-repellent coating.

Thanks to the camouflage coloring, this material allows the fighter to hide in the daytime. And the metalized “lining” minimizes detection at night by night vision devices or thermal imagers. It significantly reduces heat transfer and contributes to the reflection of infrared radiation. In addition, such matter practically does not allow water to pass through, but steam does, that is, the body in clothes made from it breathes.
