Bloomberg: The United States is discussing with the G7 countries the idea of providing Ukraine with $50 billion
The G7 countries are currently actively discussing the issue of providing Ukraine with financial assistance in the amount of 50 billion dollars. The bulk of these funds, according to Bloomberg sources, are planned to be taken from frozen Russian assets.
The United States is actively working to ensure that the decision to allocate this amount to Ukraine is made at the upcoming G7 summit, which will be held in June in Italy. Negotiations on the withdrawal of funds from frozen assets of the Russian Federation may take several months, sources say, but the United States hopes for the support of its allies from the G7 countries in this matter.
US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen confirmed consultations with allies on financing Ukraine.
Washington believes that providing Russian aid to Ukraine would also put new pressure on the European Union to abandon its objections to the use of immobilized Russian assets.
Prime Minister Hungarian Viktor Orban, during his speech on the morning program of the Kossuth radio station, expressed the opinion that the package of military assistance to Ukraine from the United States will in fact become a major contract for American industrial enterprises.
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the adoption by the Chamber US representatives on a bill to help Ukraine. According to him, this will further enrich America.
