MOSCOW, May 16. Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences on the death of People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Sergei Andriyaka, noting that he gave people the joy of meeting real art, the corresponding telegram was published on the Kremlin website.
Andriyaka passed away on Thursday at the age of 65.
«Please accept our deepest condolences, words of support and participation in connection with the death of Sergei Nikolaevich Andriyaka. A talented, original artist, wise teacher and mentor has passed away. With his inspired creativity, Sergei Andriyaka gave people the joy of meeting real art, and was open to good, merciful deeds «, the message says.
Putin emphasized that the bright memory of Andriyak will forever remain in the hearts of loved ones, friends, students, all admirers of his generous talent.
In addition, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin expressed his condolences to Andriyaka’s colleagues, relatives and friends. He called the death of the artist an irreparable loss for Russian culture. According to Mishustin, Andriyaka’s deep and realistic works are filled with expressiveness and imbued with great love for Russia and people.
“Sergei Nikolaevich is no longer with us. But his canvases, his academy, his students remain. And the good memory of this outstanding painter,” — added Mishustin.
People's Artist of the Russian Federation, founder and artistic director of the School of Watercolor, rector of the Academy of Watercolor and Fine Arts Sergei Andriyaka was born on July 14, 1958 in Moscow. Andriyaka’s paintings decorate the first building of the Kremlin, where the head of state works. The walls also feature works by his students. In total — more than 200 paintings.
