In 2022, about 120 000 cars of Chinese brands were sold in Russia, which corresponds to 33% of the total number of cars sold. According to general director of "Autodom" Andrey Olkhovsky, whose words are quoted by Vzglyad, in 2023 the share of «Chinese» will reach 60%.
Also, the country continues to tend to import imported cars under the parallel import program. Now German, American and Japanese cars are imported into Russia from UAE, Kazakhstan, Armenia and other countries. As a rule, this is not a cheap pleasure — the car itself and its delivery cost about 3-5 million rubles, and you still need to pay excise tax and VAT.
