Last week, the Moscow Automobile Plant demonstrated another novelty — the Moskvich 6 liftback. We decided to imagine what this car could look like in the style of the very popular Moskvich-2141 in the 90s.
The upcoming Moskvich 6 is a Chinese liftback JAC Sehol Yao with other nameplates. As in the case of the Moskvich 3 crossover, no external original elements were added here, although the novelty could become a kind of ideological heir to that very 41st Moskvich, given the body type. Its production began in 1986, and the car stayed on the assembly line until 2001. Also, the original Moskvich has a number of characteristic appearance features that could be taken into account with a slight restyling of the Chinese model.

In terms of front design, we focused on the Svyatogor model, which appeared in 1997 and is a kind of restyled version. It is distinguished by a narrower grille and original headlights, narrowing towards the center. As for the rear, it is almost the same for all 41s: it is characterized by horizontal lights of a simple form and a license plate niche located between them. Another feature of the «forty-first» is the curved connectors of the front and rear bumpers. In addition, the car presented in the renders is made in beige, which is one of the most characteristic of the original Moskvich.

The Chinese model JAC Sehol Yao, which became the basis for the new Moskvich 6, is also a more expensive version of the already sold in Russia liftback JAC J7. The novelty differs from it in a more aggressive design of the front and rear parts with original optics. The length of the Chinese version is 4780 mm, width — 1820 mm, height — 1492 mm, wheelbase — 2770 mm. For comparison, the dimensions of the 41st Moskvich are 4350x1690x1400 mm, the distance between the axles is 2580 mm. At home, JAC Sehol Yao is offered with a 1.5 petrol “turbo-four” with a capacity of 184 hp. paired with a 6-speed «robot» with dual clutch.
