The truck is designed for the South American market. In the brand hierarchy, the novelty will be between the Ram 1000 and 1500 models.
The Ram brand is part of the auto giant Stellantis, which was formed in early 2021 as a result of the merger of the French PSA group and the Italian-American group FCA (the previous names of the parties are not used now). In the South American market, for example, in Brazil, the brand's lineup is represented by full-size pickups Ram 1500, 1500 Classic (a model of the previous generation, which is still in service), 2500 and 3500. In the future, the model line will be replenished with a new small truck.
Teaser of the new Ram pickup
Information about the development of such a model appeared a long time ago, but there were no images or technical information about the future novelty. Now, the South American division of Stellantis has published a video teaser of a small truck intended for the local market. By the way, it is possible that later the model will appear in the US, although it is likely that dealers in the US will receive a completely different pickup, but in the same segment.
The teaser does not allow you to see the exterior of the novelty in its entirety. Judging by the video, the model will receive a brutal embossed hood, a massive grille with a grid pattern and the brand name written in large letters; in addition, the name will also be reflected on the stern. The Ram truck will also have large headlights with LED daytime running lights, as well as vertically elongated lights.

There is practically no official information about the technology of the novelty yet. The only hint of «stuffing» is a flashing frame with a hood, which has a «Ram Turbo» nameplate. According to preliminary data, the truck will be based on the 4×4 LWB platform, on which the Jeep Commander is based (the Jeep brand is also part of the auto giant Stellantis). In this case, the novelty can borrow technology from the crossover. Recall that we are talking about a 185-horsepower turbo engine with a volume of 1.3 liters (270 Nm) and a 2.0-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 170 hp. (380 Nm).
It is assumed that in the brand hierarchy, the new pickup will be between the “older «Model Ram 1500 and «younger» 1000 (such a car is sold in Latin America). According to rumors, the developed truck can be assigned an index of 1200. By the way, such a model was already in the brand line from 2017 to 2019. No word yet on when the new product will debut.
In keeping with Stellantis' «greening» strategy, Ram has also developed an all-electric model with a full-size 1500 REV pickup. The brand declassified the production version in February of this year, and a couple of weeks ago shared key technical characteristics. The model is designed to compete with the Ford F-150 Lightning.
