The production of sedans and station wagons of the Russian brand can be established in Uzbekistan, said the president of AVTOVAZ, Maxim Sokolov.
The debut of the restyled Lada Vesta family took place in February 2022: a solemn event was held at the Izhevsk plant owned by AVTOVAZ. A little later, the enterprises went into forced downtime, the entry of the refreshed Vesta to the market had to be postponed due to a lack of components. By the way, the site in the Udmurt Republic still managed to release a small batch of updated cars, and they still got to dealers last year. However, the model was officially launched into the series quite recently, at the beginning of last month, and at a different factory.

As Kolesa.ru reported earlier, the production of updated sedans and station wagons Lada Vesta was transferred from the Izhevsk plant to the parent plant of AvtoVAZ, located in the city of Togliatti (Samara region). It has now become known that the updated Lada Vesta will probably receive a new registration: that the production of sedans and station wagons can be established in Uzbekistan, the president of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, said today. “Already now, together with a partner, we are actively considering the nearest plans to restore the assembly of our cars,” TASS quotes the head of the company. “And it will be the flagship model, the new generation Lada Vesta.”
Maxim Sokolov also noted that there are plans to increase the degree of localization of the production of Russian Lada cars in Uzbekistan. According to him, this will be achieved through welding and painting, now AVTOVAZ continues to negotiate with local partners. Frets have been assembled here since 2021, at the facilities of the Roodell company, previously a SKD assembly of pre-reform Vests was established here.

It is worth noting that AvtoVAZ considers the current Lada Vesta a new generation, and not a restyled version: the model was even assigned the NG index (that is, New Generation). Later, the sixteen-valve engine with a return of 106 hp, as well as a 1.8-liter engine (122 hp) and options with an automatic transmission will return to the engine line.
