MOSCOW, December 1The solemn ceremony of awarding the laureates of the Russian National Award in the field of creative industries (Russian Creative Awards) was held in Zaryadye, one of the winners was the project “Moscow — City of Cinema”.
«Last year we received a prize for the Moscow Fashion Week project, and it turned from a fashion event into a whole trend. …Today we received an award for creating the Moschino project. …Thank you very much!» — said the mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin during the ceremony.

According to him, the territory that is now being developed in Krasnaya Pakhra is much larger than Hollywood and Bollywood. There are 300 hectares of creative space with different eras, he added. “Moscow, as a territory, is a city of cinema. We thought that this really is so. Movies should be shot on the streets of Moscow, this is a natural extension of our city,” the mayor emphasized.
He expressed hope that the idea of Moscow, as with fashion week, will give impetus to the development of the film industry in Russia.
“In order for premieres to appear on our screens every week, on our TV, when we turned it on, we watched not Hollywood films, but our Russian films, our wonderful actors. This requires an industry, and I am sure that we will succeed in this project. Thank you very much,” Sobyanin concluded.
Aide to the President of Russia Maxim Oreshkin said that the importance of the domestic creative industry has been very well appreciated over the past year, when many competitors left the market. And the Russian creative industry has occupied these niches “with great success.”
About the award
The winners were chosen in ten categories: “Social Project”, “Children’s Project”, “Region of the Year”, “Educational Project”, “Creative Event”, “Person of the Year”, “New Forms”, “Digital Project”, “Cultural Code” , «Territory Development Project». Different works can compete for an award in one category, for example, “Children’s Project”: a TV series, a book, an animation project, and an exhibition.
The first ceremony of awarding the Russian National Award in the field of creative industries took place in 2021. Moscow won the award in the Creative Region of the Year category. In 2022, Moscow Fashion Week won the Event of the Year category.
Russian Creative Awards is an award that unites all existing creative industries.
