There is nothing fresh or perishable in it
A month after the launch of the SIRIUS-23 crew “to the Moon” at the Institute of Medical and Biological Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the crew is preparing to meet a cargo ship in lunar orbit . Not an alien, but ours, with additional consumables for scientific equipment, hygiene products, food, personal items and gifts for the New Year.

As MK was informed by the Institute of Medical and Biological Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the “arrival” of the transport truck is expected on December 15-16.
Recall that a crew of six volunteers launched “to the Moon” from Moscow on November 14. Five Russians and one representative of Belarus went on a year-long expedition under the long-term isolation program SIRIUS-2023, equivalent to a flight to an earthly satellite or Mars.
The flight takes place on Earth, in the ground-based experimental complex of the IBMP on Khoroshevskoye Highway. The cargo ship will also “fly up” there.
As the institute’s specialists explained, among the food that the team will soon have to unload from the “truck” there will be no perishable and fresh products — they were excluded as part of the long-distance flight simulation. By the way, this will be the first non-standard situation: unloading parcels will result in 36 hours of insomnia for the crew members. This is a so-called experiment, bordering on emergency situations, on “sleep deprivation (reduction).”
