MOSCOW, December 25. Singer Philip Kirkorov at the premiere showing of Tatiana Navka’s ice show “Evenings on the Farm” explained why he refused the main role in the production, the correspondent reports.
According to the People's Artist of Russia, the athlete and producer of the ice performance initially invited him to play in the musical based on Nikolai Gogol's “The Night Before Christmas” The Devil. However, the musician refused.
Philip Kirkorov explained his decision by saying that many years ago his father forbade him to play evil spirits. Then the artist also played the Devil, and serious problems began in his life.
“”I went to see my father. He told me: “You are so bright, stay away from devilry, and everything will be fine with you,” Kirkorov recalled. “And then I promised myself that I would never deal with devilry again.” I will not tie up my life.”
Philip Kirkorov added that for many years he followed the covenant given to himself, but after Tatyana Navka’s proposal, he forgot about it in the bustle and agreed.

“”But when I remembered, I said: “Tanya, I’m wildly sorry, but any other role is possible, even an episode. But not the Devil,” said Kirkorov. “Fortunately, she understood and heard me.”
As a result, the artist voiced Prince Grigory Potemkin, who in the show is played by two-time winner of the Four Continents Championship in ice dancing Pyotr Chernyshev.
The role of the Devil in the musical is played by multiple champion of Lithuania Povilas Vanagas , and the singer Grigory Leps gave the voice to his hero.
