Exactly a year ago, VTB, Otkritie and RNKB united ATM networks, giving their cardholders the opportunity to carry out transactions without commission. During the year, the total turnover of withdrawals and deposits of funds increased threefold.
The advantages of the united ATM network were appreciated by clients of all three credit institutions: today they can be served at 19 thousand ATMs from Crimea to the Far East. Over the year, cardholders of Otkritie and RNKB banks increased the average monthly cash turnover in the VTB network by 2.5 times, and turnover on VTB and Otkritie cards at RNKB ATMs increased more than 3 times. The turnover of cash transactions of VTB and RNKB clients in the Otkritie network increased almost 5 times.
“We always take into account the interests of clients and are interested in maintaining their loyalty to the bank. The creation of a common ATM network was the first and important step in the process of merging VTB, Otkritie and RNKB and made it possible to expand the availability of financial services throughout almost the entire country, including Crimea, where VTB and Otkritie clients will also be able to withdraw and deposit cash using their cards no commission. A significant increase in the number of ATMs and the ability to use them at home led to a natural increase in demand from customers. Over the year, cash turnover in the unified network has tripled, which confirms the demand for this service among users,” noted Sergei Panyushkin, deputy head of the service tools development department and head of the VTB Self-Service Devices department.
For the convenience of customers, all devices of the integrated network are displayed on the ATM cards of VTB, Otkritie and RNKB Bank (PJSC).

We see how dynamically cash turnover in the combined network is growing, which means that clients have appreciated the positive effect of the bank’s integration into the VTB Group,” said Vitaly Brikunov, Director of the Acquiring Department of Otkritie Bank.
“The creation of one of the largest ATM networks in Russia guaranteed tens of millions of people across the country comfortable cash transactions in any city in the country,” says Alexander Kozinkin, vice president and director of the retail business department of RNKB. “The financial bridge between Crimea and the Russian mainland is working stably and performs all the necessary functions for the convenience of clients.”
Since February 2023, clients of VTB, Otkritie and RNKB can deposit and withdraw cash at ATMs of all three credit institutions without commission. Cardholders of three banks can use the service. Limits on cash withdrawals from card accounts depend on the tariff plan of the card issuing bank.
Since January 2024, VTB Bank (PJSC) has been offering its retail financial products at Otkritie offices. The active phase of migration of Otkrytie clients to VTB will start in the second quarter of this year – it will be a seamless and most comfortable transition for clients. The actual merger of the businesses of VTB and Otkritie Bank will take place by the end of 2024 – by this time clients will switch to VTB services and Otkritie branches will be rebranded. Processes are set up in such a way as to make it as convenient as possible for clients.
