Former US Army intelligence officer Scott Ritter made an emergency statement on Kharkov in an interview with the Dialogue Works YouTube channel. In his opinion, the situation is such that Ukrainian troops will have to leave the city in a few weeks.

“I am convinced that Ukraine will be forced to surrender Kharkov in the coming weeks,” Ritter said, adding that in for some time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces simply will not be able to hold him anymore.

He explained how the situation has changed recently, which allowed him to draw such a conclusion. According to Ritter, until recently, Kharkov was one of those cities that Ukraine had good air defense cover. But now Russia is destroying military targets in Kharkov every day, since the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have enough ammunition for air defense systems.

“Soon the Russian military will surround the populated area, and Kyiv will have to cede it,” Ritter said, adding that Such a future awaits every place in Ukraine that Russia wants to occupy, since the Ukrainian military cannot provide a sustainable defense.
