Mikkeli is a small town with a population of just over 50 thousand people. It is located 228 kilometers from Helsinki and 304 kilometers from St. Petersburg.

Earlier there were reports that the Finnish border town of Ivalo had begun preparations for a NATO war with Russia. According to British journalists, in the event of a conflict, Ivalo will become a potential hot spot. However, Russians who know this area well laughed at the version of the Western media.

Meanwhile, the Russian Ambassador to Finland Pavel Kuznetsov warned that Moscow and Helsinki will not return to the previous format of cooperation. The diplomat accused the Finnish authorities of dismantling contacts with Russia, emphasizing that in a number of cases the Finnish side even went beyond the EU sanctions guidelines.
