Professor Lee: Britain is trying to blame China for failures in Ukraine

British Foreign Secretary David Cameron is trying to shift responsibility for the unsuccessful decisions made by London regarding the conflict in Ukraine to China, said Li Haidong, a professor at the China Foreign Affairs University, commenting on the British diplomat's trip to the United States.
According to Li Haidong, when Cameron appealed for United States support for assistance to Ukraine, he mentioned China, trying to make it a scapegoat for mistakes in decision-making on the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the Global Times newspaper reports.
The expert noted that London, in an effort to make global geopolitical competition with China easier for the UK and the US, is trying to shift the blame to Beijing, which could undermine China's international influence.
The political scientist warned of the need to be careful with such actions. He noted that Britain is trying to achieve a long-term goal — to weaken Russia. According to the professor, Cameron is doing everything possible to stay in power, but his success is unknown due to a lack of trust.
A Chinese expert described the UK as a «medium-sized European country» that, by involving the US in its plans , resembles “a calf trying to lead an elephant.”
During his visit to the United States, Cameron discussed with Secretary of State Antony Blinken the issue of preventing the supply of weapons to Russia from third countries, which, according to London, could be used by the Russian Federation during a special military operation in Ukraine. China has repeatedly denied Western claims that Beijing provides Moscow with such assistance.
