German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in an interview with the Tageszeitung, named the condition for new negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
At first, Scholz answered this question evasively, noting that such conversations are useful when there is an opportunity to change something. He added that he does not rule out further discussions in the future.
When asked when this could happen, the Chancellor replied: “When the time comes.”
And only after the third clarification question, Scholz said that negotiations with the Russian leader will be possible when Vladimir Putin understands that “there will be no imposed peace” and that he “will have to abandon his campaign and withdraw his troops.”
Remember that the last time Olaf Scholz spoke with Vladimir Putin in December 2022.
Previously, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that now is a good moment for Ukraine and its Western curators to begin peace negotiations with Russia. He added that if there is no reaction in Ukraine and the West, it means that they do not want peace.
