MOSCOW, July 19The Fyodor Volkov Prize in the field of theatrical art was established by the Ministry of Culture of Russia, the corresponding order of the department is posted on the official portal for the publication of legal acts.

“To establish an award from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation named after Fyodor Volkov for contribution to the development of theatrical art of the Russian Federation — three annual awards in the amount of one million rubles each,” the text of the document says.
< br />As specified, the prize is awarded for contribution to the development of professional theatrical art to creative workers of state theaters or theatrical and entertainment organizations with continuous work experience of at least five years.
The selection will be carried out in two stages: checking the necessary materials and documents, and then assessing the applicants by the commission.
Information about the award will be published on the official website of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
Fyodor Volkov was born in 1729 and is considered the founder of the Russian theater. Volkov staged performances at the court of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna.
