Investigators have opened a criminal case into a fire in the east of Moscow and the death of two people in it. This was reported by the press service of the capital's Investigative Committee.

A drug-addicted Muscovite is accused of double murder. The suspect was detained without delay. In the near future, investigators will begin interrogating him.

As the investigation showed, today, July 22, 2024, the defendant was first at the entrance of a residential building located on Krasnobogatyrskaya Street in Moscow, but then went to the apartment where they lived his mother and grandmother. He blocked the door and set it on fire. There was a fire. The victims died at the scene of the incident from their injuries.

Currently, the capital’s investigators are questioning witnesses, examining the scene of the incident, and studying recordings from surveillance cameras. The deceased were sent to the morgue for a forensic expert's report.

Investigators carefully study each fact in order to collect a convincing evidence base and transfer the case to court.
