Iranian Saipa cars in Russia: website launched, specifications announced

One of the two official Saipa distributors in Russia has launched a website where you can see three models that will go on sale by the beginning summer.

In March, we talked about the fact that Iranian Saipa cars will be delivered to Russia through two distributors. The first is Best Motors LLC from St. Petersburg, the second is Lucky Carensi LLC from Minsk, both companies signed a contract with Saipa for three years and the supply of 45,000 cars, and both companies are considering the possibility of localizing Saipa models: Best Motors looks after one of the idle plants in St. Petersburg, Lucky Carensi is negotiating with the Unison plant, located in the suburbs of Minsk.

The Minsk company has not yet been officially represented on the Web, but Best Motors has recently launched the Russian website Saipa, where you can get acquainted with three inexpensive front-wheel drive models — Quik, Saina and Shahin, their sales should begin this summer, in the future the lineup will be expanded . At the moment, the site looks extremely primitive, the pictures are the size of a matchbox, but the original Iranian Saipa site from Russia is not available, so, in fact, there are no alternatives, we selected illustrations for our previous article on the topic of Saipa from independent open sources. There are no prices and specifications on the Russian Saipa website yet, but there are main technical characteristics — we will tell about them.

The Quik cross hatchback and the Saina sedan are sister models based on the Kia Pride from the mid-80s of the last century. Overall length Quik — 4005 mm, width — 1678 mm, height — 1532 mm, wheelbase — 2415 mm. A 1.5-liter gasoline «aspirated» produces a maximum of 87 hp. and 128 Nm, gearbox — 5-speed «mechanics» or CVT.

The Saina sedan is equipped with the same 1.5-liter gasoline engine as the cross hatchback, but only paired with a manual gearbox . Overall length of Saina is 4105 mm, width is 1641 mm, height is 1484 mm, wheelbase is 2410 mm. «/>

The Saipa Shahin compact sedan is built on the XP90 generation Toyota Yaris platform, developed in the early 2000s, and is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine (110 hp, 178 Nm) paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The overall length of the Shahin is 4446 mm, the width is 1771 mm, the height is 1490 mm, the wheelbase is 2650 mm.

The engines of all Iranian models meet the Euro 5 environmental standard. March by a representative of Best Motors — 1.0-1.7 million rubles. This year, Best Motors expects to sell at least 10,000 cars, the first Saipa showroom will open in St. Petersburg, then during the year Best Motors wants to form a dealer network of 120 outlets in different regions of Russia, the Russian Saipa website is accepting applications from those who wish become a dealer.

Best Motors and Lucky Carensi intend to hold presentations of Saipa cars in Russia at the end of April (in St. Petersburg and Moscow, respectively), after which we will probably know more about them.
